Come Home to Your Inner Compass: Can We Allow Challenging Times to Help Us Grow?

(Written by Steffi Black)
Many of us are struggling right now. With so much happening, it can be hard to know how to feel. But remember: Love Always Wins Over Hate. What does that truly mean? It means that every time you visit that place of hurt—feeling anger, sadness, or rage—allow yourself to feel it fully. Once these emotions move through you, consciously choose to shift toward a more uplifting vibration.
As Dr. Joe describes, this is the power of combining an uplifting emotion with conscious intention. You can become a “Love Radiator,” a “Love Warrior,” even when times are tough. Now, more than ever, we need people to be beacons of light in whatever darkness may arise.
How Energy Fields Work
Did you know that your energy affects the energy field of those around you? By taking personal responsibility for your vibration, you can positively impact the collective field. This idea is championed by some of my favorite experts, including Dr. Joe Dispenza, Marie Manuchehri, and my Qigong school founder, Master Chunyi Lin. If you’re struggling, consider tuning into their work and exploring practices to help shift your energy.
The HeartMath Institute is also making a tremendous difference on our planet. As they put it, “When we intentionally add heart-focused love, compassion, and kindness to the planetary field, we can help raise humanity’s baseline consciousness from instability and discord to compassionate care, cooperation, and peace.” Each of us matters, as we are all connected.
Heart Math offers a Global Coherence App where you can listen to short coherence meditations. You can download it here: Global Coherence App.
Join our healing communi-qi group and participate in uplifting practices that connect you inwardly and support the collective.
If you need support right now, try listening to positive voices like the ones I mentioned, or engaging in sacred rituals—whether meditation, yoga, qigong, walks in nature, or journaling. No matter what’s happening, you can always come home to yourself. In Spring Forest Qigong, we connect to the universe to find stillness and peace within, often calling upon unconditional love or guidance for extra support. We are not alone. I also offer online Qigong and meditation classes twice weekly.
Learning to raise your heart coherence is another powerful practice. By opening your heart and filling your space with light, you can counter negativity. Research shows that being in a state of heart coherence aligns our rhythms with those of the earth, which fosters cooperation, reduces separation, and increases harmony.
Here’s a simple Heart Math coherence technique to try. Can you take a moment now? Just 30 seconds can make a difference.
Heart Lock-In™ Technique
- Heart-Focused Breathing™: Focus your attention in the area of your heart. Imagine your breath flowing in and out of your heart or chest area, breathing a bit slower and deeper than usual. You may want to place your hand on your heart. This can be done with eyes open or closed.
- Heart Reflection:
- Notice moments where heart qualities—such as kindness, compassion, tolerance, or appreciation—are present in life.
- Observe where your heart may be lacking in your daily experience.
- Reflect on where you could add more heart qualities to save time, prevent conflict, and reduce stress.
- Practice: Breathe this way for 30 seconds to a minute, three times a day.
Did you feel a shift? By choosing your vibration, you contribute to raising the vibration of the global field environment. The planet needs us to show up with compassion and positivity.
You’re welcome to join my online healing movement medicine sessions each week: Book a Qigong Session.
I wish you grounding and centering rituals that support you now. Remember, your inner work supports our outer world.
