Renewal
When I began writing this newsletter I started thinking about summer approaching and the warmth of the sun. It has been a long and arduous winter with power outages, ice storms, endless snow and cold weather. It is time to take a deep breath and shed those extra layers, both physically and spiritually. Open your windows and let some fresh ideas blow in.
Life is a stream of endless possibilities but we often don’t see it because we get stuck in our day-to-day obligations and responsibilities. We forget that we have a choice everyday to change our perception and approach our lives with joy and appreciation. There was a guy on the news last night who had both his legs blown off at the Boston Marathon. He said he missed his old life, being able to play basketball with his friends and being able to jump into his car anytime he wanted to drive somewhere. We take those things for granted. How many of us complain about having to drive around and do errands? What if you no longer had the ability to do it, or to get yourself dressed in the morning and go for a walk? It is important to become aware and appreciate everything that you have right at this moment, because just as the weather is changing, so are you and so are the circumstances in your life.
It all comes down to your perception. Einstein said it best, “there are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” Everyday we have a choice and a fresh slate to see the people and situations in our lives as gifts that are given to us so that we can grow. There is always going to be an area in your life that causes you to struggle. That struggle is helping you grow and become a better version of yourself. Without any struggle we would all become complacent and bored. For a caterpillar to become a butterfly it has to change. Have you ever seen a butterfly crawl back into its cocoon and become a caterpillar? Change is inevitable but your perception of it is up to you. The caterpillar dies so the butterfly can be born, and yet, the caterpillar lives within the butterfly waiting to get its wings and become a beautiful manifestation of itself. We are all butterflies waiting to get our wings. The problem is that we get caught up in our limited beliefs and perceptions and end up becoming limited versions of ourselves, forgetting that we too have wings.
Start by eating healthy, doing yoga, helping others and reminding yourself daily to breathe and to be in the Now. Finding appreciation for everything, including the things that challenge you, is a way to change your perception. Now is the time to sign up for one of our programs to get healthier, shed the extra weight, remove your limiting perceptions and emerge as the beautiful butterfly. Enjoy the freedom!
